Couples Halloween costumes can be loads of fun. Sometimes couples can kick it up another notch by switching it around so that the man dresses up as the “woman” half of the couple, and vice versa. Here are a few ideas and how to put them together.

Great Easy Ideas for Couple Costumes

Batman and Catwoman make a good pair. These are costumes that can be bought or rented from costume shops. Another fun costume pair is Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf (particularly fun if the man is Little Red Riding Hood!), and the pieces to this costume can be made, purchased, or rented.

Couples can put together a biker couple costume from thrift store finds. Another couples Halloween costume that can be put together at a thrift store is Bonnie and Clyde, and the vintage clothes themselves can be conversation pieces. The components needed for a boxer and ring girl costume are easy to find and relatively inexpensive too.

Another fun couples Halloween costume is a butler and maid, but shopping early is recommended due to the popularity of the sexy French maid costumes. Costumes for Julius Caesar and Cleopatra are easy to put togther with sheets, a laurel wreath, and lots of dark eyeliner.

Dressing up as Danny and Sandy from Grease is easy to do with a leather jacket and tight jeans for him, a sweater, circle skirt, and saddle oxford shoes for her. Another movie pair, Dr. Evil and Mini Me, might be harder to pull off, but would be a great idea for a couple where one partner is significantly taller than the other. Edward and Bella from the Twilight movies is sure to be a big hit for Halloween 2010.

Father Time and Mother Nature are easy to do, with a cheap clock tethered to a chain, a couple of long, white robes, and a garland for Mother Nature's hair. The football player / cheerleader combo is a lot of fun, too, and if the man and woman swap roles, it's even more so. An elegant choice for couples who like to dress up would be Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. This would require renting a tux and renting a gown, or else raiding a local thrift store for a sparkly formal dress.

Han Solo and Princess Leia make another popular Halloween couple, as do Gomez and Morticia Adams. Dressing as a hillbilly couple is easy and inexpensive, and Homer and Marge Simpson are a classic that everyone will get a kick out of. Dressing up like a king and queen is fairly easy to pull off, as is going as Napoleon Dynamite and Deb, and while dressing up as Mario and Luigi isn't so easy, it's a huge hit at Halloween parties.

Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne make a great Halloween couple, and so do Peter Pan and Tinkerbell. A pirate and wench are another popular Halloween pairing, and a priest and nun combo is a classic.
